Maintaining your child’s oral hygiene is important to us!
Information for Child Care Centres
How care is delivered?
A dental practitioner will visit the centre to deliver oral health care onsite. Our team will work with the centre/ school to deliver the program with minimal disruption to staff and students, in line with National Standards (NSQHS), local regulations and site requirements.
What does your portable equipments look like and what do you need at the service location?
We bring our fully portable dental chair, unit and equipments to the centre. It can all be fitted in a small corner of a room, all we need is a power point.
What does the visit include?
The visit includes check-up, teeth cleaning and polish, application of remineralising agent ( if indicated), dental x-rays ( if indicated) and oral hygiene education.
Every child will be sent home with a free prize pack including a toothbrush and toothpaste, and some toys. Parents will receive an email containing a dental report, including completed treatments, findings and any future visits required.
Do Parents need to be present at the time of visit?
Parents do not need to be present at the appointments. However, parents who prefer to be present at their child's appointment, can specify on the consent form or contact us prior to the scheuled visit day. Our staff will contact them and arrange a suitable time for them.
Are there any fees involved?
There is absolutely no cost involved for the centres/schools.
We do bulk bill if the child is eligible for medicare scheme. Every child's eligibility is checked prior to the visit, once parents have submitted the consent forms. If the child is not eligible for treatment under the CDBS, MDS offers the check up and clean service capped at $75. If the child has private health cover, we can provide them an invoice and they may be able to claim it back. If the child refuses to be seen or absent, parents will receive a refund.
